Elementary Food Hygiene

A 6-hour course which has been independently rated on the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) at Level 5 with 1 credit.  The course may be of interest to volunteers running community cafes and lunch clubs.

 The course covers:

  • the benefits of high standards of food hygiene and food safety legislation

  • the incidence of food poisoning and its prevention

  • the role of food safety management systems in managing hazards and risk .

Candidates are required to sit a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.

The course will be delivered by Annie Casey of Abundant Borders, a registered REHIS trainer.

Lunch will be provided by Abundant Borders.
